Hi there, Stefanie showing you a cute trick I learnt to make my traditional paper-look layouts look even more realistic.
When I was a paper scrapbooker I never would have left paper clips and metal objects on my layouts for fear that they’d rust or through the compression within the album cause damage to other layouts. However with digital goodies my layouts are flat and will never press into something deeper within the album so I can have as much fun as I would like to. Stitching is also so much easier in digi than with an actual needle and thread. I created my layout as usual, with papers, photos and foundational brushwork.
But then I added some lovely attachments from Digital Scrapbook Ingredients – Fasteners embellishment pack and I just love the difference.
Washi tape, paper clips, stitching, brads, photo anchors, stitched buttons and flair all add to the feeling of dimension and that they are “sticking” the paper/photo layers to the back ground layer. Now I feel like if this were a paper page I could lift it up vertically and everything would stay in place.
For my layouts, I used Everyday Essentials: Fasteners and All you need is ice-cream a collab by Jenn Barrette and Digital Scrapbook Ingredients.
