CT Member Kacy here with some fuzzy inspiration for you!
My cat Sasha is a frequent subject of my scrapbook pages – she is getting up there in age, but she is still amusing and affectionate. An ex-boyfriend and I had gotten her as a kitten from a neighbor’s yard 14 years ago. She went to live with him when we broke up – but I offered to take her back last year when he moved away with his current girlfriend (who is a truly wonderful person but is very allergic to cats).
Sasha and I had never really had a “bond” when she first lived with me, at least not in the way that I did with my two male cats. She was much more interested in my boyfriend at the time – she followed him around the house, constantly laying on him or trying to get his attention while shooting me dirty looks.
When she came back to live with me last summer, I had just been dumped by the guy I was seeing, had put one cat to sleep in January, and had an ailing 15-year old cat who was in poor health (and had to be put to sleep a couple of weeks later). I wasn’t expecting an affectionate or friendly kitty, but that is what I got!
Sasha not only remembered my other cat Dimitri, but she kept him company in the last few days of his life. She and I have our comforting little routines (such as watching TV together in the evening), and she makes me laugh with her strange squeaking noises or when she plays fetch with her favorite ball. It has truly been wonderful to have her back in my life, and I can honestly say that I don’t know what I’d do without her.
This is my favorite photo of Sasha – taken a few years back when I first got a digital SLR camera. This photo is so expressive to me and really captured the defiant look I used to see on her face when we were “competing” for my ex-boyfriend’s attention. This photo also helps me remember what a beautiful animal Sasha is. The Natural Beauty kit was perfect for this layout!
