Hello there, it’s hybrid girl, Tanya, here to show you how to create this cute gift card holder for your teacher.
I don’t know about you, but this school year has gone way too fast. It seems like yesterday when all the “First Day of School” photos were all over Facebook. Now that school is coming to an end, we will be seeing “The Last Day of School” popping up. They are all so cute!!
Let’s not forget how our little ones got there…..their teachers!!! Send your child to last day of school with this cute “Thank You” gift”.
I used these two kits, Love to Learn and School Starts Again, and the Silhouette Studio Software to create this project, but you can use any photo editing program.
Supplies:
Digital Kit – I used Love to Learn and School Starts Again by Digital Scrapbook Ingredients
Double sided tape
Pop up dots
Printed and cut pieces (I used white cardstock for the printed pieces)
Ribbon
Gift card
So let’s get started….
The first step is to make sure that your registration marks are on. I opened this file that I purchased from the Silhouette On-Line store.
The next step is to open the fill pattern window and choose the paper from the kit. Once you have the papers, add the rest of the embellishments to the page.
Before you send to your printer, make sure that all your cut lines are on. Once you have done this, send to your printer.
Now to cut the pieces. Add the printed cardstock to your silhouette mat and “Send to Silhouette”.
Now do the same for the layered piece. I used black cardstock for this layer.
Use double sided tape to put together the layered pieces and to assemble the card holder.
To add a little texture to the project, I used pop dots for the books on the tag.
Add the gift card to the holder and finish off by added the tag with ribbon to the holder.
I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial. Don’t forget to tell your teacher “THANK YOU” and have a great summer.
HUGS, Tanya
