Hi, Erin here! A little while back a friend of mine introduced me to bullet journaling. I didn’t think I had the time to start a new hobby, but I was intrigued by the idea, and I LOVE the pages my friend posts on her Instagram.
I looked into it a bit and here is what I found. Technically it started as a way to help people be more efficient and keep better track of their life and their time, but now it is used for all sorts of things.
I have to laugh a little because to me it seems like Project Life, Art Journaling, and Planners all got together and made a love child called Bullet Journaling. The most distinctive thing is the incorporation of lists into the pages. I like lists. I have always made lists, and in fact I keep a notebook that has my daily, weekly, monthly lists – but it looks nothing like those pages above.
I don’t know, maybe next time I need to buy a new list notebook I will go the bullet journal route – but for now, I wanted to take some inspirations from this new organizing art form.
I have been trying to incorporate more lists into my scrapping and my art journaling because, let’s face it, a busy family does not leave all that much time for lengthy journaling. Many people don’t like journaling anyway, and I think sometimes that can be a deterrent to AJ. So why not use a list instead.
This week’s release – Express Yourself lends itself beautifully to list making. Here I used it to document some of those “All About Me” things by listing the causes of some of my more common emotions.
So what about you? What kinds of lists can you incorporate into your AJ pages? Let Bullet Journaling inspire you!
